Regarding the new topic for the Team Report I edited the Project Schedule today. Please find the new tasks and deadlines here.

Team Meeting 23/09/2014

Regarding to the feedback we got on the Project Plan we worked out a new topic for our team report. We are going to concentrate on a special tool LinkedIn uses to generate money instead of the whole company view with the different business models.

As we are all interested in communication and the marketing opportunities we decided to focus on the Advertising Business model which builds revenue of the data collected of seeing and reversing connections in this CV social network. We are going to analyze LinkedIn Marketing Solutions in case of targeted Sponsored Updates with a case study about a marketing campaign with focus on sponsored polls. We are going to evaluate risks and how Linkedin does support to deliver valuable campaigns as it is in all interests to keep clients. The companie's ROI is going to be analyzed and future plans and developments.

Robyn's Personal Project Diary- Topic Review

As per my chat with Ainslie I relayed the information of the need for us to specifically focus our project questions in more detail to the rest of my team. I had discussed a few potential options with Ainslie which I relayed to my team, and together we decided that an in person meeting was necessary. At the meeting we decided to completely re-focus our case study to look at the marketing solutions and Julia edited the project schedule accordingly. I am still in charge of the creative aspects of the project and will make sure I'm available to help edit every one else' work when necessary.

Robyn's Personal Project Diary- Initial Plan

My role in the team is to ensure that the production of my specific topics of content are produced and submitted as per the schedule. I am covering the background of LinkedIn and will be creating an info-graph to show the timeline of the company’s financial and commercial growth. I will also explore LinkedIn’s Talent Solution business model as well as the company’s plans for development and growth in the future. I am comfortable with my writing and research skills so I am confident I will be able to remain abreast with this role.

As Art Director I am in charge of the general visual design of the report. I will ensure that the presentation is visually engaging and flawless and that I am available to help my teammates incorporate their content so that the report presents as a smooth visual entity.

Assignment 2 - Project Plan: 


Next to our team meeting and the general team discussions I developed a detailed project schedule in form of a Gantt Chart for my team. For the Project Schedule included in the Project Plan I used the software 'GanttProject' which is uncomplicated and comfortable to work with. Timings and resources can be changed and the Gantt Chart gives a great overview which work is done yet and about the time allocations. For our detailed, internal project schedule I created a gantt chart in Excell which is easy to handle and gives a great overview of each team members roles.

In accordance with David and Robyn I described the roles of each person transferred to a real work project and co-ordinated responsibilities.

On top of that, I wrote down a Code of Conduct for our team which we discussed together and everyone agreed to.

My personal plan is a summary of the jobs have to be done regarding the Project Schedule and a more detailed description of the Project Manager role I assumed.

About us

Hi,

we are the "Postgraduate Team" and this blog is created to support our team assignment for the unit "505 Internet Commerce and Consumers" at Curtin University.

For Assignment 2 we had to develop a project plan. Assignment 3 is going to be a team report. Our group will analyze how LinkedIn has matured as a business and is constantly developing. 

We will present this report through Prezi. However, each team member will write a personal diary about his contribution, timing and support and post/edit it on this blog regularly to give an overview what is going on.
